BluJay’s Customs Management-ZABIS® software enables frictionless customs compliance, leads market in ATLAS certification

Bad Homburg, Germany – 26 March 2020BluJay Solutions, a leading provider of supply chain software and services, today announced that the company’s customs management software in Germany, Customs Management-ZABIS®, is officially certified on ATLAS 9.0, the electronic system used by the German Federal Customs Administration.

“Customs fillings have become central to international business today: the un-stoppable rise and globalization of e-commerce, trade wars, Brexit, new customs requirements from the UCC (Union Customs Code), and various national policies have turned frictionless frontier-crossing into a competitive advantage for the businesses that can keep customs filling compliance needs current. We are very proud to be at the frontline of ATLAS 9.0 certification and look forward to continuing to be that partner for all of our German customers,” said Nicolas Ethevenin, Director Product Management at BluJay Solutions.

ATLAS (Automatisiertes Tarif- und lokales Zoll-Abwicklungssystem) is Germany’s main electronic customs system used to organize customs declarations processing including NCTS, import, NEE (subsequent recovery, reimbursement or remission for import), temporary storage, bonded warehouse, and inward processing, declarations and import levy notifications.

ATLAS 9.0 is the major upgrade of the German customs system for 2020, designed to handle major compliance changes from the German Federal Customs Administration, covering both national requirements and EU/UCC harmonization and modernization of messages with regard to format, content, and compliance validations. The cutover and end of soft migration period will be in July, as per the usual timeline, making BluJay’s Customs Management-ZABIS 9.3 among the first software platforms to receive certification.

BluJay has invested in upgraded message handling capabilities in Customs Management-ZABIS 9.3, making the platform more scalable than ever and capable of addressing high-volume future declaration types when published by German Customs (for example, ATLAS-IMPOST). Customers also benefit from enhanced usability and compliance due to BluJay’s improvements to the UI and printouts.

Ethevenin adds, “We continue our effort and investments into the next major upgrade of CM-ZABIS UI, opening up new possibilities for usability and automation, which will greatly benefit our community of users.” In 2020, BluJay will also address and certify EMCS version 2.4.

“BluJay Solutions is fully and more committed than ever to serving our German customers and market, as we have for decades, through deep expertise both in our technology and associates. Our end-to-end offering is an enabler to our customers, removing customs frictions in their supply chains, while saving cost,” said Katrin Voigtmann, Director Professional Services for BluJay in Germany.

BluJay customers in Germany using the ATLAS-certified Customs Management-ZABIS 9.3 software will benefit immediately from the changes, with no disruption to their declarations.
